Richard GwynDAVIESPassed away peacefully at his home on Thursday 11th May 2023. Richard of Brynallt, Llanilar formerly Tanyderi, Llanilar aged 64 years. Beloved husband to Richard, much loved son to Margaret and the late Harri, loving brother to Meirion and Ann, cherished uncle to Guto, caring brother-in-law to Manon and a true honest friend and colleague to many. Richard's wishes are for informal dress to be worn while attending the funeral. Public funeral service to be held at Aberystwyth Crematorium on Saturday 3rd June 2023 at 11am. Family flowers only. Donations if desired in memory of Richard gratefully received towards "Bronglais Chemotherapy Unit Appeal" or "Llanilar Health Centre" Please make individual cheques payable to the charities. c/o Gwyn Evans, C.T. We are very grateful to have known Richard both as a colleague and friend. His early passing is a sad loss but he touched many people's lives and we will all have very fond memories of him.

Richard was an energetic forester whose interest in trees and people, drew him increasingly towards improving the way in which woodlands and forests benefitted communities and society. His knowledge, enthusiasm and wit enabled him to win people over and resolve many problems. He was immensely capable but always put friends and colleagues above career goals and many will be grateful for the kindness and support that he gave them when they needed it.
This generosity of spirit will be sorely missed but we will also fondly remember many joyful conversations when Richard, with a twinkle in his eye, would delve into his huge store of hilarious tales, (including many entertaining anecdotes about his own mishaps and adventures.) His early passing evokes such bitter/sweet memories but we are all lucky and grateful to have known and worked with him.
